How to Create a Tropically Themed Room
Filed Under Home Improvement | Comments Off
Niall Roche asked:
For most of you reading this there’s nothing better than the thought of somewhere sunny and warm. Someplace where people would plan to retire to in the sun. This is the same type of place you’d like to go on holidays too and just enjoy the overall feeling of wellness that a sunny climate can give you. So why not have that experience early and put the feel of a sunny climate right into your own home, so you can be in the tropics every single day?
To make a start at creating your own desert island experience at home you’ll need to look for colors that are both bright and relaxing whilst still conveying the tropical theme. “Cold” colors are to be avoided at all costs. Why not start with white and pale creams to set the mood. Then after establishing this basic tone for the room you can add pale shades of blue and green to really flesh out the color scheme in the room.
With the floor, there are two main options; tiling and wooden flooring. Tiles generally look best, but hardwood covered with a suitable rug will also look great, and will also protect your new wooded floor. To give your room the feel of a beach, you could have a sisal rug in the room, although the furniture will be more important than what you put on the floor in the long run.
Next up for redecoration are the windows of the room. You can really start to have fun here. Sheer curtains can be used easily to cover up the windows in a bedroom without cutting off all the light when drawn back, and bamboo blinds will also look great if you decide to go down that route.
Dark wood and rattan furniture go really well with the tropical style, and if they have brightly colored throws they look even better. Once you have completed all of this, from the paint to furniture, you can put some tropical accessories in the room also, such as bold colored cushions, tropical posters, and finally; a fish tank with tropical fish will fit in brilliantly.
So if you want to take the tropics home why not look at a tropical decorating theme for your home?

Alyssa Davis asked:
The interior wall of a room, house, or office is practically a blank canvas. By putting some artwork on it, you can add character to any place in the house. That artwork can be a beautiful design painted over a part or the entirety of the wall; a sculpture, a painting, a picture, or a mosaic hung over it; or even an artful display of light projected on the wall.
One of the best themes of wall décor art is a tropical theme. This theme goes very well with houses, condominium units, studio rooms, and apartments on the beachfront.
There are many decorative wall décor items on sale that gives a wall a beautiful tropical theme. Here are some of them that you can order through the Internet.

Bring The Beach To Your Home With Tropical Decor
Filed Under Home Improvement | Comments Off
Holman Craig asked:
Tropical islands are surely one of the most popular vacation destinations for people all over the world. The warmth, bright sun, white sands, and clear water all combine to create some of the most beautiful places on earth. Many people choose to bring this beauty into their homes by decorating in a tropical decor theme. Being able to look at a lovely white sand beach from the comfort of your living room or den brings a sense of calm and relaxation, while coordinating decor brings a splash of color to the home.
Types of Tropical Decor
Many items of home decor can be classified as being tropical decor. The most common item type of decoration in this category is one with a view of a tropical beach. These beach views can be in the form of a painting, a print, or a photograph and come in many styles, shapes, and textures. One person may prefer a painting of a beach at sunset while another may prefer a view of the water at noon. Some beach paintings focus on the scenery beneath the water while others set the attention on the sky above. There are a number of different ways to look at a single beach and the artists that specialize in tropical scenes have learned to capture them all.
Another popular item included in many tropical decor themed rooms is a type of decoration that displays images of tropical fish. These fish can vary in color, style, and size. They are usually created out of glass, metal, wood, or ceramic. They can be direct reflections of creatures that live in the sea or vivid perceptions of the artist’s imagination. Some individuals choose to house tropical fish in an aquarium in their home, but salt water aquariums require a lot of maintenance to keep them in the perfect condition that will allow the fish to survive.
Many decorators like to use seashells as part of their tropical themes. Seashells come in many different colors, from black to red to white with shades of blue. They also come in a variety of different sizes and shapes, each one unique to a different type of marine animal. Seashells are typically used to complement some other piece of tropical decor, such as a seascape painting or used as curios. They can also be used as a focal point, such as in a curio cabinet or as a table centerpiece.
The most common item found on tropical beaches, sand, is rarely used for tropical themed decor decor. The primary reason is that there is a good chance that it will eventually wind up on the floor, and not only destroying the decoration, but also creating a mess that would take a lot of work to clean up. Items containing sand are usually made of heavy glass or plastic that won’t break easily if dropped, and are sealed with no openings so that the sand will not leak out. Sand comes in very few colors, limited to brown, white, and, in rare cases, black.
